Performance and pedagogy of Salmah, exploring stylistic interpretation and teaching approaches.

Part 2

Introduction to Malay Asli music and its applications in music education and contemporary performance.

About the Workshop

Designed for piano teachers, performers, and music educators interested in Malay musical traditions and contemporary pedagogical applications.

Participants will experience discussion, interpretation, and live demonstrations featuring accordion and rebana.

About the Presenter

Syafiqah ‘Adha Sallehin is a Singaporean composer, performer, and arts educator whose work bridges Western classical and traditional Malay musical practices.

Recipient of the 2025 NAC Young Artist Award and NHB Outstanding Youth in Intangible Cultural Heritage Award.
